Marc Isaacs has been prominent in the film world since his debut in 2001 with the film Lift, which documented the everyday traffic of a high-rise elevator off London's Commercial Street. Since this well-received first offering, Isaacs has gone on to make documentaries for BBC2, Channel 4 and BBC4's Storyville series. Professional accolades have inevitably ensued, including nominations for the Grierson Award and first prize at two European Documentary Festivals. His film Calais: The Last Border premiered at the Sheffield International Documentary Festival while his 2002 film Travellers premiered at the Krakow International Film Festival.
